ESPN reports that Bears receiver Brandon Marshall missed minicamp practice Wednesday because of his previous hip injury. Marshall was able to practice Tuesday, but the report says the Bears want to be careful with how they handle his recovery from offseason arthroscopic hip surgery. Marshall anticipates being 100 percent when training camp opens in July.
ESPN reports that Bears rookie receiver Marquess Wilson missed minicamp practice Wednesday because of what coach Marc Trestman called a light hamstring tweak. Wilson participated in Tuesday's workout, but it's unknown whether he strained his hamstring in that session or during Wednesday's practice.
ESPN reports that the injury Bears receiver Alshon Jeffery suffered was a tweaked hamstring. The report said the "injury isn't believed to be serious," and the Bears are "just being cautious" with the second-year receiver.
Updating a previous report, Bears kicker Robbie Gould has been cleared by his doctor to participate in the team's OTA workouts this week. He's apparently recovered from surgery to fix a ruptured hamstring.
Saints pass rusher Victor Butler tore his ACL at practice on Tuesday and is expected to miss the 2013 season according to the New Orleans Times-Picayune. Butler was expected to start opposite Will Smith.
