David Wilson "needs a miracle" to continue his career with the Giants, the Newark Star-Ledger reported Thursday. Wilson suffered a neck "burner," (trauma to his neck that involves numbness and tingling) in practice this week and will be re-evaluated next week, but an anonymous source told the paper the bad prognosis.
Giants rookie receiver Odell Beckham said he'll play in the preseason, though it won't be in Sunday's preseason opener, reports Newsday. Beckham is expected to miss another week with a hamstring injury.
The Ravens have signed suspended safety Will Hill to a one-year deal, according to the Baltimore Sun. Hill is suspended for six games for violating the league's substance abuse policy while with the Giants, his second suspension since entering the NFL.
Eagles linebacker Jake Knott was suspended for the first four games of the season for violating the NFL policy on performance-enhancing substances. Knott released this statement:
"Several weeks ago, I was shocked to learn that I tested positive for a stimulant that is banned by the NFL. I have never knowingly ingested a banned substance, but like most players, I take nutritional supplements. Unfortunately, I now know that supplements are not regulated and thus may contain things that are not listed on the label. The NFL policy is very strict, so I have chosen to take immediate responsibility. I look forward to participating in team workouts, training camp and the preseason with my team."
