04/27/16DBRon BrooksNeckPROBABLEBrooks (neck) was placed on injured reserve Tuesday.

Neck and shoulder issues cost Brooks time recently, even forcing him into the concussion protocol, though it's not entirely clear whether his placement on IR is related or due to a new injury. Brooks played primarily on special teams this season, recording 12 total tackles (11 solo).

04/27/16DBNolan CarrollAnklePROBABLECarroll (leg) has agreed to re-sign with the Eagles on a one-year contract, ESPN reports.

Carroll started the first 11 games of last season before suffering a broken fibula in a Thanksgiving loss to the Lions. He may have to compete for a starting job in 2016, as the Eagles traded away Byron Maxwell but did sign Leodis McKelvin. 2015 second-round selection Eric Rowe also figures to compete for a starting spot on the outside.

04/27/16DLBennie LoganCalfPROBABLELogan (calf) was placed on IR on Saturday, Philadelphia Inquirer writer Jeff McLane reports.

Logan is a fine run-stopping interior lineman and his absence leaves Philadelphia a bit more vulnerable at the nose tackle position against the Giants.

04/27/16RBRyan MathewsGroinPROBABLEMathews and teammate Darren Sproles are being pegged as the Eagles' primary running backs following the trade of DeMarco Murray, Philly.com reports.

Mathews' future with the Eagles was somewhat uncertain earlier this week, but after Murray was traded, executive vice president of football operations Howie Roseman expressed confidence in Mathews and Sproles as the team's top two runners. In 13 games last season, Mathews rushed for 539 yards and six touchdowns, averaging a career-best 5.1 yards per carry along the way. While the Eagles could certainly add another running back in the upcoming draft, it appears Mathews could be their primary ball-carrier this season, according to Roseman and coach Doug Peterson's recent comments.

04/27/16KCody ParkeyGroinPROBABLEParkey finished the year with just four field goal attempts because of a groin injury.

While Parkey missed the majority of the 2015 because of injury, he'll likely be back for the Eagles' OTA program to test out his worrisome groin. He had an excellent rookie year, making 88.9 percent of his field goal attempts, and his first three games of 2015 should be scratched because of the impact of his injury. However, if Parkey falters, fellow kicker Caleb Sturgis will likely try to pounce and win the job for himself after a solid 2015 campaign. It's a good situation for the Eagles, having two kickers they're confident in competing for one spot.

04/27/16DBIfo Ekpre-OlomuKneePROBABLEThe Dolphins claimed Ekpre-Olomu off waivers from the Browns on Tuesday.

Ekpre-Olomu has endured a rough 16-month stretch due to a torn ACL sustained in a December of 2014 practice while still a student-athlete at the University of Oregon. Projected to be plucked in the first or second round of the 2015 NFL Draft, he tumbled to the seventh round and upheld the expectation that he wouldn't play as a rookie. With new management in Cleveland, a recent MRI on the knee was concerning enough for the organization to cut ties with the cornerback, but the Dolphins will nonetheless see if Ekpre-Olomu can channel his previous talent.

04/27/16DLDion JordanSuspensionSUSPENDMiami is open to having Jordan return to the team, Adam Beasley of the Miami Herald reports.

Jordan was suspended for all of the 2015 season for violating the League's substance abuse policy. The Dolphins still need help along the defensive line even with the addition of Mario Williams. Miami will meet with Jordan and if he convinces them that he is serious about staying in the NFL they will welcome him back to the team.

04/27/16LBChris McCainKneePROBABLEMcCain (knee) season ended Tuesday as he was placed on IR, reports the Miami Herald's Armando Salguero.

McCain and Koa Misi were both placed on IR after the game Sunday. McCain's 2015 campaign ends with two whole tackles and a sack. Safe to say he won't be missed.

04/27/16DLCameron WakeAchilles PROBABLEWake (Achilles) ran sprints with no noticeable limp at voluntary minicamp on Tuesday, Chris Perkins of the South Florida Sun-Sentinel reports.

Wake also took part in a sack drill that required hand and hip movement. He presumably isn't ready to make hard cuts, but it does seem he's on/ahead of schedule in his recovery from the torn Achilles he suffered in late October. The 34-year-old defensive end is believed to be seeking an extension as he enters the final year of his contract, and the Dolphins presumably hope to reduce his $9.8 million cap hit for 2016. If not for the major injury, it would actually be a very reasonable price tag for a player that had seven sacks and four forced fumbles in seven games last season.
