08/15/16WRMalcolm MitchellElbowPROBABLEWhen asked Sunday for a timetable for his return to full action, Mitchell -- who dislocated his left elbow on Aug. 11 -- said he didn't "have an answer for that," CSN New England reports.

On the plus side, Mitchell -- who has returned to the practice field in a limited capacity -- while sporting a large brace around his elbow, noted Sunday that he's "feeling good...feeling a lot better than the day it happened." Once he's able to play without restrictions, Mitchell could emerge as a candidate to claim the Patriots' "X" receiver role, but for now his early-season fantasy upside is somewhat stalled by his elbow issue. Beyond that, it may take some in-season injuries for Mitchell to merit lineup consideration, given that there are plenty of other options in the Patriots' passing attack, namely fellow wideouts Julian Edelman, Chris Hogan (and Danny Amendola to a lesser degree), as well as the team's talented tight end combo of Rob Gronkowski and Martellus Bennett.

08/09/16DLRob NinkovichArmQUESTIONABLENinkovich, who tore his triceps on Aug. 9, was present at the start of Sunday's practice before moving on to the Patriots' lower field to do conditioning work, ESPN.com reports.

Initial Boston Herald reports suggested that Ninkovich's return would be a matter of "weeks, not months." While it's unclear when the defensive end might be able to practice fully, his presence on the field Sunday, in any capacity, is a positive sign nonetheless.

07/11/16TEMichael WilliamsKneeOUTWilliams tore his left ACL during Wednesday's practice and he'll likely be placed on Injured Reserve, Jim McBride of the Boston Globe reports.

As expected, Williams' injury was a serious one as he was seen on crutches Thursday awaiting the unfortunate results. This ensures Clay Harbor's spot as the No. 3 option at tight end behind Rob Gronkowski and Martellus Bennett heading into the 2016 season, as Williams enters a long road to recovery.

04/27/16QBTom BradySuspensionSUSPENDBrady (suspension), who returned to the team Tuesday following an excused absence, downplayed the thumb injury he sustained in advance of last Thursday's preseason game against the Bears, ESPN's Mike Reiss reports.

Brady accidentally sliced his right thumb on a pair of scissors before the contest, and when asked about the injury Tuesday, the QB noted that his thumb feels "good" now, adding that "it took a few days. I wanted to go (Thursday) and Coach [Bill Belichick] said it's probably best if we just take it easy." Moreover, Brady put forth the notion that he would have played last Thursday if it had been a regular-season game. While his playing status for this Friday's preseason tilt at Carolina has not yet been determined, Brady's four-game suspension to start the coming season is clearly more relevant from a fantasy perspective than his thumb issue, which turned out to be minor.

08/22/16RBKenyan DrakeHamstringQUESTIONABLEThough Drake (hamstring) has returned to practice, he won't play Thursday against the Falcons, the Miami Herald reports. "It's a very lingering injury, especially in my case because it's the second one in a couple of months," Drake noted. "My kind of game, I need that burst. So until I feel like I have that burst, I'm not going to feel 100 percent."

With Jay Ajayi and Arian Foster atop the Dolphins' RB depth chart, Drake is off the short-term fantasy radar, and his hamstring issue hasn't helped his chances of making an early-season impact. Meanwhile, fellow RB Isaiah Pead is making a strong case to stick with the team, while Damien Williams and Daniel Thomas also remain in the team's backfield mix.

08/20/16QBMatt MooreHeadQUESTIONABLEMoore (concussion) sat out of practice Sunday, James Walker of ESPN.com reports.

Moore suffered a concussion during Friday's preseason matchup with the Cowboys and is currently going through the league's mandated protocol. He was held out of practice Sunday as expected, but still remains without a timetable for a return. Absences from concussions vary in length depending on the player, but we'll likely see his status updated again within the coming few days.

08/18/16DBXavien HowardKneePROBABLEHoward (knee) was able to take part in a few team and one on one drills Monday, Adam Beasley of the Miami Herald reports.

The biggest weakness on defense for Miami is at cornerback. With a pass rush that is expected to be much improved this season they don't need their corners to be great, just ones that aren't beat immediately off the line of scrimmage. The team is hopeful that Howard can be one of those guys.

08/09/16TEMarQueis GrayKneeQUESTIONABLEThe Dolphins and Gray agreed to a contract Thursday, Armando Salguero of the Miami Herald reports.

Landing the second tight-end role out of training camp, Gray earned 26 offensive snaps and 75 more on special teams over the first four games of 2015, during which he hauled in his only target. In the same game, though, he sustained a broken forearm and spent the rest of the season on injured reserve. Upon joining the Dolphins, he'll compete for one of the few TE spots behind Jordan Cameron.

08/05/16WRDeVante ParkerHamstringPROBABLEParker had two receptions for 16 yards in the Dolphins 41-14 loss to Dallas on Friday.

While the numbers aren't all that exciting it was good to see Parker on the field after battling foot injuries all offseason. Parker is expected to be the big play receiver in the Miami offense but expectations may have to be kept in check until quarterback Ryan Tannehill proves he is ready to take that next step into an elite NFL signal caller.

07/31/16DLDion JordanUndisclosedNFIJordan (knee) has been notified by the league he is eligible to begin practicing, Adam Schfter of ESPN reports.

While Jordan has been cleared to practice, he is still unable to physically do so. The 26-year-old defensive end is still rehabbing from a knee injury. He has not played since December of 2014, and will face stiff competition for playing time on an already deep D-line.
