10/02/16DEJonathan BullardTOEQUESTIONABLEBullard (toe) is doubtful to play in Week 4 against the Lions.

Bullard was a new addition to the injury report this week. Cornelius Washington and C.J. Wilson project to see additional reps if he's ultimately unavailable to play.

10/02/16RBKa'Deem CareyHAMSTRINGDOUBTFULCarey (hamstring) is listed as doubtful for Sunday's game against Detroit.

Carey didn't practice all week and can essentially be ruled out. With Jeremy Langford (ankle) also unavailable, rookie Jordan Howard is in line to lead the Chicago backfield.

    (Updated 09/30/2016)
10/02/16QBJay CutlerRIGHT THUMBDOUBTFULCutler (thumb) didn't take part in Thursday's practice, the Chicago Sun-Times reports.

Head coach John Fox more or less termed Thursday's DNP a precautionary measure, which lines up with Fox's contention Wednesday that Cutler will be evaluated "day-to-day" this week. Speaking of Wednesday, Cutler was unable to do a "whole lot" during his limited showing. As a result, his activity level Friday will likely hold a lot of sway toward his potential to play Sunday against the Lions. Another absence from Cutler would place Brian Hoyer under center for the second consecutive game.

10/02/16NTEddie GoldmanANKLEDOUBTFULUpdating a previous note, Goldman (ankle) has been ruled out for four weeks, Rich Campbell of the Chicago Tribune reports.

Goldman is dealing with a high ankle sprain that is expected to sideline him until Week 7 when the Bears take on the Packers. The defensive tackle is just one of the many injuries that resulted from Monday's loss to the Eagles. Danny Trevathan is expected to miss extended time as he undergoes finger surgery, while Lamar Houston was lost for the year with a torn ACL. Not to mention Jay Cutler is nursing a thumb injury which will keep him sidelined for some time. In Goldman's absence, look for Will Sutton to take over as a starter.

    (Updated 09/20/2016)
10/02/16WRAlshon JefferyKNEEQUESTIONABLEJeffery (knee) was limited at practice Wednesday, Brad Biggs of the Chicago Tribune reports.

The Bears have capped Jeffery's activity level in back-to-back weeks due to a knee injury, but the ailment didn't stop him from hooking up with backup QB Brian Hoyer on Monday to the tune of five catches for 70 yards. Jeffery has taken full advantage of his 20 targets this season, averaging a ridiculous 13.6 per look, so the signal-caller doesn't appear to matter with Jeffery. In any case, with Jay Cutler (thumb) logging a limited practice as well Wednesday, Jeffery could be working with a familiar face Sunday against the Lions, assuming the wideout is active again in Week 4.

    (Updated 09/28/2016)
10/02/16SHarold Jones-QuarteyCONCUSSIONQUESTIONABLEJones-Quartey recorded six tackles Saturday against the Chiefs.

Jones-Quartey started at safety for the third time this preseason, and he led the team in tackles against the Chiefs. He's likely set to be the Week 1 starter, and he's in line to record a fair number of tackles each week, though he's not looking like he'll be a strong IDP option.

    (Updated 08/27/2016)
10/02/16RBJeremy LangfordANKLEDOUBTFULLangford (ankle) is listed as doubtful for Sunday's game against Detroit.

Langford is expected to miss four-to-six weeks, but the Bears for some reason prefer to list players as 'doubtful' rather than 'out'. With Ka'Deem Carey (hamstring) also listed as doubtful and not expected to play, Jordan Howard will likely serve as the lead back.

    (Updated 09/30/2016)
10/02/16CBSherrick McManisHAMSTRINGQUESTIONABLEMcManis (hamstring) is questionable to play in Week 4 against the Lions.

Though starting cornerback Kyle Fuller (knee) has been lost to injured reserve, McManis serves as nothing more than depth in the Bears' CB corps.

    (Updated 09/30/2016)
10/02/16CBTracy PorterKNEEQUESTIONABLEPorter tallied four tackles in the Bears' 31-17 loss to the Cowboys on Sunday.

Porter was questionable to play with a hamstring injury, but ended up playing every defensive snap. He should be good to play again in Week 4 against the 49ers.

    (Updated 09/26/2016)
10/02/16GJosh SittonSHOULDERQUESTIONABLEThe Packers announced Friday quarterback Aaron Rodgers (calf) and running back Eddie Lacy (knee) are both listed as probable for Sunday's NFC title game at Seattle. Defensive end Josh Boyd (ankle) and guard Josh Sitton (toe) are also probable.
10/02/16LBDanny TrevathanTHUMBDOUBTFULTrevathan (thumb) is doubtful to play in Week 4 against the Lions.

Trevathan underwent thumb surgery prior to Week 3 and did not go on to play in that contest. His status will be confirmed prior to the start of the Sunday's action.

    (Updated 09/30/2016)
10/02/16LBWillie YoungKNEEQUESTIONABLEYoung (knee) is questionable to play Week 3 against the Cowboys.

Young appears to have suffered a knee injury during Thursday's practice and remained limited during Friday's session. Sam Acho projects to fill his place in the starting lineup if Young is unable to give it a go.

    (Updated 09/23/2016)
09/02/16TEBen BrauneckerAnkleQUESTIONABLEBraunecker worked out on the side of practice on Thursday as he recovers from an ankle injury, Brad Biggs of the Chicago Tribune reports.

Braunecker is an undrafted rookie who faces an uphill battle to make Chicago's roster, as he's buried on the depth chart. The sooner he can return to action the better, and it appears he's nearing a return now that he's been able to at least work out on the side. Rob Housler and Gannon Sinclair will likely continue to see extra reps as long as Braunecker is out.

07/29/16DLEgo FergusonSuspensionSUSPENDFerguson has been handed a four-game suspension for a violation of the NFL's policy on performance-enhancing substances, Jeff Dickerson of ESPN Chicago reports.

After notching three tackles in four games, Ferguson was placed on season-ending injured reserve in October due to a nagging knee injury. Thus, his ban won't kick in until he's healthy enough to take the field during the 2016 campaign.

10/02/16DEEzekiel AnsahANKLEOUTAnsah (ankle) has been ruled out for the Lions' Week 4 game against the Bears, MLive.com reports.

Ansah has been sidelined since going down in Week 2 and it is uncertain when he'll be able to return.

    (Updated 09/30/2016)
10/02/16CBAdairius BarnesANKLEQUESTIONABLEBarnes (ankle) has been ruled out for the Lions' matchup against the Packers on Sunday, Tim Twentyman of the team's official site reports.

Barnes was previously considered questionable. His absence limits Detroit to four healthy cornerbacks available to deploy against Packers QB Aaron Rodgers.

    (Updated 09/24/2016)
10/02/16TEEric EbronANKLEQUESTIONABLEEbron (ankle) was a full participant in Friday's practice and is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against Chicago.

Ebron followed Wednesday's absence with a limited showing Thursday and a full practice Friday. He followed the same pattern last week, ultimately catching five passes for 69 yards on eight targets while playing 58 of his team's 68 offensive snaps. Ebron should be fine for Sunday's favorable matchup against an injury-marred Chicago defense.

    (Updated 09/30/2016)
10/02/16DEWallace GilberryABDOMENQUESTIONABLEThe Lions have signed Gilberry, the Cincinnati Enquirer reports.

Gilberry, who was limited to 23 tackles and two sacks in 16 games for the Bengals last season, bolsters the Lions' defensive end depth, though his path to IDP relevance hinges on him securing his share of snaps at the position opposite Ziggy Ansah.

    (Updated 04/05/2016)
10/02/16WRMarvin Jones Jr.HAMSTRINGQUESTIONABLEJones (hamstring) was a full participant in Friday's practice and is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against Chicago.

A mid-week addition to the injury report, Jones was a limited participant in Thursday's practice. His availability doesn't appear to be in much question, as he didn't show any signs of injury at Friday's practice, according to Dave Birkett of the Detroit Free Press. The NFL's leader in receiving yards, Jones will do battle with an injury-marred Chicago secondary that would have been shaky even at full strength.

    (Updated 09/30/2016)
10/02/16LBDeAndre LevyQUADRICEPSOUTLevy (quadriceps) will not play in the Lions' Week 4 game against the Bears, MLive.com reports.

Levy remains sidelined with an injury to his quadriceps. It's unclear when he'll be able to play again.

    (Updated 09/30/2016)
10/02/16TRiley ReiffANKLEQUESTIONABLEThe Lions have picked up the fifth-year option of offensive tackle Riley Reiff, general manager Martin Mayhew has announced.
10/02/16DEDevin TaylorANKLEQUESTIONABLETaylor (ankle) is active for Sunday's Week 3 matchup with the Packers, Kyle Meinke of MLive.com reports.

Taylor only practiced once during the week, but the Lions may require him to play a full snap count Sunday with Ezekiel Ansah (ankle) expected to miss at least a few games. Through his first two games, Taylor has been able to make an impact at the defensive end spot opposite Ansah, logging eight tackles and 1.5 sacks.

    (Updated 09/25/2016)
10/02/16LBAntwione WilliamsHAMSTRINGQUESTIONABLEWilliams (hamstring) will not play on Sunday, Tim Twentyman of the Lions' official site reports.

With starter DeAndre Levy (quadriceps) also ruled out, the Lions will have just two healthy outside linebackers to deploy against the Packers.

    (Updated 09/24/2016)
10/02/16STavon WilsonNECKQUESTIONABLEWilson and Rafael Bush will compete for the Lion's starting strong safety position this offseason, Dave Birkett of the Detroit Free Press reports.

Back in 2012, then-rookie Wilson played in all 16 games for the Patriots, logging four starts and an equal number of interceptions. In three seasons since, he failed to start a single contest, and picked off just one pass. Now in Detroit, the Illinois product will have the opportunity to reposition himself as an NFL starter this offseason, according to Lions GM Bob Quinn. Glover Quin (ankle) is currently cemented in as their starting free safety, but Wilson will compete with Rafael Bush to patrol the secondary alongside him. However, Bush is the presumptive favorite to win this battle, and the Lions could still further address the safety position in the draft or through the free-agent market.

    (Updated 04/14/2016)
09/11/16LBJosh BynesKneeOUTBynes (knee) reached an injury settlement, and was cut by the Lions on Saturday, Dave Birkett of the Detroit Free Press reports.

Bynes had been placed on the injured-reserve with a knee injury. The severity of his knee injury is still unknown. He had originally projected to provide linebacker depth for the Lions this season.
