Smith (suspension) has entered a treatment center, ESPN reports.
Smith's reason for seeking treatment is unclear, but it comes just days after a Periscope video titled "Fire up session" surfaced of an unidentified man, suspected to be him, talking about a hand-rolled cigarette shown on screen. In wake of that video, which appeared under an account previously used by Smith, the NFL has launched an investigation into whether he violated protocols required of a suspended player seeking reinstatement from a substance abuse violation. While that investigation continues, Smith's move to now enter a treatment facility hardly seems coincidental, and more details regarding his situation should surface soon.
Charles (knee) was limited at Wednesday's practice, ESPN's Adam Teicher reports.
While Teicher acknowledged that Charles could still end up playing Sunday night against the Steelers, he adds that "as cautious as they've been with (Charles) that's difficult to picture unless he gets a full week of practice." With that in mind, Charles remains a risky fantasy lineup roll, with the Chiefs not kicking off until 8:30 PM ET on Sunday and Spencer Ware looming as a candidate to see his share of work in Week 4 even if Charles does suit up.
