08/26/16DLDamion SquareSuspensionSUSPENDSquare has been suspended four games by the NFL, the team's official site reports.

Square's suspension stems from a violation of the league's substance abuse policy. Early reports indicate that Square did not test positive for a specific substance, but the 27-year-old missed a scheduled test. Both Ryan Carrethers and Tenny Palepoi are likely to fill in during his absence.

04/08/16DLCorey LiugetFootPROBABLELiuget is feeling "much better" after he underwent arthroscopic knee surgery in December, Micahel Gehlken of The San Diego Union-Tribune reports.

Liuget had tallied 34 tackles (28 solo) and three sacks before his Week 13 injury against the Broncos. The 26-year-old, who signed a five-year extension prior to last year's training camp, reportedly weighed between 313-315 pounds throughout the 2015 season, but is expecting to cut his weight down to 295 by the season opener. With the Chargers selecting Joey Bosa with the third overall pick in the 2016 NFL Draft, Liuget and Bosa could form an impressive duo on the defensive line capable of wreaking havoc on opposing offenses should both players stay healthy.

04/08/16DBJason VerrettHamstringPROBABLEVerrett (hamstring) has begun working out with fellow Chargers teammates, ESPN's Eric D. Williams reports.

Verrett, who missed the Chargers final game of the regular season due to a hamstring injury, was spotted working out with a few members of the secondary at a training facility in California. San Diego's leader in interceptions last year, Verrett is expected to take over more of a leadership role on defense with veteran captain Eric Weddle widely expected to sign with another team during the offseason.

08/31/16WRQuincy EnunwaConcussionQUESTIONABLEEnunwa (concussion) wore his helmet at Monday's practice, but he was also wearing a red jersey.

Enunwa's return to practice, albeit in a limited capacity, suggests he has cleared the NFL's concussion protocol. He's locked in as the No. 3 wideout in an offense that makes heavy use of three and four-wide sets. Of course, Enunwa will likely be fourth in line for targets, trailing Brandon Marshall, Eric Decker and RB Matt Forte.

08/31/16LBJordan JenkinsCalfQUESTIONABLEJenkins (calf) sat out of practice Wednesday, Darryl Slater of NJ.com reports.

Jenkins left Monday's practice early with a calf injury and was given another day off Wednesday for further rest and recovery. It's reportedly nothing serious and shouldn't linger into the regular season, although there's a good chance he's held out of Saturday's preseason matchup with the Giants for precautionary reasons. We should hear more on his status in the coming few days.

08/31/16RBKhiry RobinsonLower LegQUESTIONABLERobinson (lower leg) won't take the field for Thursday's preseason opener against the Jaguars.

Just three days removed since his activation from the PUP list, Robinson will be held out as he builds up his workload in advance of the regular season. While it's unclear if he'll log any exhibition snaps over the next month, he'll serve as one of Matt Forte's (hamstring) primary backups with Bilal Powell.

08/31/16WRKenbrell ThompkinsGroinQUESTIONABLEThompkins (groin) will not play in Saturday's preseason game against the Giants.

Thompkins missed some practice time during the week and will thus be held out of Friday's game. He's seemingly the favorite for the No. 4 wideout job, though it isn't exactly clear where the Jets' depth chart stands after Brandon Marshall, Eric Decker and Quincy Enunwa.

08/30/16WRBrandon MarshallHipQUESTIONABLEHead coach Todd Bowles said there is no concern about Marshall's hip injury, Brian Costello of the New York Post reports.

Marshall was an unexpected scratch for Saturday's preseason game against the Giants, subsequently missing practice Monday and Tuesday. The Jets aren't expected to play many starters in their preseason finale, which Marshall would skip even if he were 100 percent healthy. He has nearly two weeks to prepare for Week 1 against the Bengals, and there's been nothing to suggest his injury is anything besides soreness.

08/28/16LBDavid HarrisShoulderQUESTIONABLEHarris (shoulder) expects to be ready for Week 1 after receivign the results of an MRI on Sunday, ESPN"s Adam Schefter reports.

Harris will be held out of the preseason finale, which likely would have been the case even if he were healthy. Although he's coming off four straight seasons with 100+ tackles and at least two sacks, Harris is headed the wrong way in the IDP universe, as the Jets may consider using Erin Henderson and Darron Lee as their nickel 'backers.

08/25/16DBDexter McDougleHamstringQUESTIONABLEMcDougle (hamstring) did not participate in Thursday's practice, Eric Allen of the team's official site reports.

The Jets drafted McDougle back in 2014 with the expectation that he could soon be a cornerstone of the team's secondary. Unfortunately, a torn ACL and other minor injuries have plagued their plans. Rookie Juston Burris and Darryl Morris are likely to see increased reps during his absence.

    (Updated 08/25/2016)
08/24/16TEJace AmaroGroinQUESTIONABLEAmaro (groin) may not make the final roster, ESPN.com reports.

Amaro dressed but didn't play in Saturday's preseason game against the Giants, suggesting his absence may not have been entirely injury-related. Regardless, the Jets have blocking specialist Kellen Davis slotted in atop the depth chart, and Zach Sudfeld offers more than Amaro on special teams. A 2014 second-round selection, Amaro impressed early in training camp but failed to make any noise during the preseason. Even if he's kept on the roster, he may be limited to a few snaps per game as an H-back.

    (Updated 08/29/2016)
08/12/16RBDominique WilliamsConcussionQUESTIONABLEWilliams (concussion) will not play in Saturday's preseason game against the Giants.

Even if he were healthy, Williams would face long odds to make the final roster. Matt Forte, Bilal Powell and Khiry Robinson are all locks, and Antone Smith was recently signed to compete for the No. 4 job.

07/29/16DLSheldon RichardsonSuspensionSUSPENDRichardson (suspension) returned to practice Tuesday after a brief excused absence, Brian Costello of the New York Post reports.

Richardson was excused from practice for personal reasons over the weekend by coach Todd Bowles, but was able to return Tuesday. The Jets will be without Richardson for Week 1 due to a suspension, but they should have their starting defensive end throughout the remainder of training camp.
