Luckily, the two will see each other twice during the season.

The Bills used the final pick in the fourth round on former Ohio State QB Cardale Jones -- except that Jones didn't believe it at first, even when the Bills called him to give him in the news.

Contaminated meat in China and Mexico could lead to some failed drug tests in the NFL.

Ryan Leaf, who was selected one pick after future Hall-of-Famer Peyton Manning, knows something about off-field issues destroying an NFL career, so Johnny Manziel might be wise to heed his words.

The Cowboys' explanation for taking a running back over a defensive back doesn't make complete sense.

04/27/16DBOmar BoldenKneePROBABLEThe Bears and Bolden agreed to a contract Thursday, the Chicago Tribune reports.

The defections from head coach John Fox's previous employer, the Broncos, continue, as Bolden is the fourth such player to move from Denver to Chicago this offseason. In four seasons in the Mile-High City, Bolden served primarily on special teams, racking up 27 tackles in that domain while returning at least 13 kickoffs on three occasions. Expect him to serve in a similar capacity with the Bears.

04/27/16DLEddie GoldmanAnklePROBABLEGoldman, who suffered a sprained right ankle during Sunday's win over the Buccaneers, was placed on injured reserve Wednesday, Dan Wiederer of the Chicago Tribune reports.

The rookie defensive tackle and former second-round pick notched 4.5 sacks in 15 games throughout the season before the severely sprained ankle suffered in Week 16 forced the Bears to shut him down for the year. With Alshon Jeffery (hamstring) also headed to IR, the team signed defensive linemen Terry Williams and Greg Scruggs on Wednesday.

04/27/16LBPernell McPheeKneePROBABLEMcPhee (knee) may not be at full speed for the Bears' April offseason program, but is expected to be fully ready for training camp, the Chicago Tribune reports.

McPhee had five sacks in the Bears first seven games last season before missing two games and missing significant snaps in the last six games he played due to the knee injury. If he can remain healthy in 2016, he should continue to not only pressure the quarterback, but also be an asset against the run.

04/27/16RBSenorise PerryFootPROBABLEThe Bears placed running back Senorise Perry on injured reserve Tuesday to reach the 75-man roster limit. He is in his second season out of Louisville.
04/27/16DBAntrel RolleKneePROBABLEThe Bears have released Rolle, the Chicago Tribune reports.

Releasing Rolle saves the Bears $3 million against their 2016 salary cap, with the move made more feasible after the team took safeties Deon Bush and DeAndre Houston-Carson in the recently-completed NFL Draft. The 33-year-old Rolle was limited to seven games and 35 tackles in his one and only season with the Bears in 2015.

04/27/16DLCornelius WashingtonQuadricepsPROBABLEA quad injury caused the Bears to place defensive lineman Cornelius Washington on injured reserve, the team announced Monday. With an open roster spot, the team re-signed linebacker Sam Acho.
04/27/16WRMarquess WilsonFootPROBABLEWilson (foot) was placed on IR on Saturday.

Wilson's foot injury proves season-ending, and leaves an already beat-up group of Chicago pass catchers even thinner. Wilson heads into his contract year with a modest but efficient total of 28 catches for 464 yards and one touchdown on 51 targets (9.1 YPT).

04/27/16DBAlex CarterAnklePROBABLEThe Lions elected to place cornerback Alex Carter on their short-term injured reserve list, according to the team's official website.
04/27/16LBDeAndre LevyHipPROBABLELevy (hip) participated in the the Lions' first set of offseason workouts, which began on Monday, the Detroit Free Press reports.

It's unclear if Levy, who played just 16 snaps last year, will be cleared to take part in football drills next month, on the plus side, the linebacker -- who racked up an IDP-friendy 151 tackles in 2014 -- maintains that his recovery from surgery to repair a torn labrum in his hip has been "going great."

04/27/16TEBrandon PettigrewKneeQUESTIONABLEPettigrew (knee) was placed on injured reserve Tuesday, Tim Twentyman of the Lions' official site reports.

After Pettigrew sustained a torn ACL Sunday at St. Louis, the move is merely a bookkeeping measure by the Lions intended to open up a spot on the 53-man roster. The organization will use it to sign a tight end, Bear Pascoe, who is known for his blocking.

    (Updated 12/15/2015)
04/27/16DBGlover QuinAnklePROBABLEQuin underwent surgery this offseason to clean out bone chips in his ankle but expects to be ready for the start of the Lions' offseason program, the Detroit Free Press reports. "I did my surgery, my ankle didn't swell very much," he said. "I was back a lot earlier just from my standpoint than I was last time. Obviously, we'll see what the trainers say and allow me to do when I get back, but it feels a lot better this year than it felt in 2014 when I had it done the first time."

Speaking of "last time," Quin had ligaments repaired in the same ankle after the 2013 season and proceeded to miss the majority of spring workouts during that offseason. Because the procedure was less intrusive this time around, he's confident that the Lions' training staff will clear the cornerback to take part in the initial voluntary workouts next week. Once the fall rolls around, he'll be looking to repeat his 2014 campaign in which he led the NFL with seven interceptions and earned the sole Pro Bowl bid of his career.

    (Updated 04/13/2016)
04/27/16RBZach ZennerChestPROBABLEZenner (chest) could experience an uptick in usage next season, Tim Twentyman of the Lions' official site reports.

The release of Joique Bell on Tuesday whittled down the Lions' backfield situation to Ameer Abdullah, Theo Riddick, and Zenner. Assuming the status quo remains after free agency and the draft, Abdullah seems to be the leader in the clubhouse for the top gig, but Riddick's pass-catching prowess leave the door open for the versatile Zenner to have a regular role in the offense. In the preseason, Zenner led all players with 183 rushing yards, and he followed it up with 17 carries for 60 yards and two catches for 11 yards in six regular season contests before his rookie campaign ended when he sustained cracked ribs and a partially collapsed lung in Week 6.
