05/24/16TETyler EifertAnkleQUESTIONABLEEifert, who will undergo ankle surgery Wednesday, could potentially miss the first couple games of the upcoming NFL season, ESPN.com reports.

Such a scenario remains speculative at this stage, given initial estimates relayed by the Cincinnati Enquirer that "a three-month recovery is anticipated, which puts Eifert's return to the field sometime in August." On the plus side, Eifert's upcoming surgery has been referred to as a "minimal procedure," so it's a little too early to count out the tight end for the Bengals' regular season opener on Sept. 11 against the Jets.

04/27/16LBVontaze BurfictSuspensionSUSPENDBurfict's three-game suspension was upheld by appeals officer Derrick Brooks, ESPN's Dan Graziano reports.

As expected, Burfict will miss the first three games of the 2016 season due to repeated on-field incidents, culminating with his cheap shot on Antonio Brown in a playoff loss to the Steelers. He's an excellent player, but his value to the Bengals has been dampened by a combination of injuries and careless penalties. He has 14 unnecessary roughness flags and 401 tackles in 47 games through four seasons.

04/27/16DBDarqueze DennardShoulderQUESTIONABLEDennard expects to be available for 2016 training camp after undergoing shoulder surgery sometime in the next couple of weeks, Geoff Hobson of Bengals.com reports.

Dennard hasn't made much of an impact during his two years in the league but appeared to be turning a corner shortly before suffering a season-ending shoulder injury last week. While he's expected to make a full recovery, it seems likely that he'll be in store for another ancillary role on the Bengals' defense next season.

04/27/16DLBrandon ThompsonKneeQUESTIONABLEAll the Bengals who were probable or questionable on the injury report are active for Sunday's game against the Jaguars. The list includes linebacker Jayson DiManche (shoulder), defensive end Carlos Dunlap (illness), cornerback Terence Newman (back), defensive tackle Domata Peko (toe), guard Mike Pollak (knee), defensive tackle Brandon Thompson (knee) and offensive tackle Andre Smith (knee).

05/17/16RBArian FosterAchillesQUESTIONABLEFoster (Achilles) said he probably needs another month to get back into top shape, ABC 13 Houston reports.

Foster made it clear he expects to regain his top form, even though he'll turn 30 before the season and is recovering from a torn Achilles suffered in late October. He'll likely join a team before training camp, with Miami, Washington and New England among the potential fits. He visited the Dolphins at the end of March, but has repeatedly made it clear he's in no hurry to sign a contract.

04/27/16LBJadeveon ClowneyFootPROBABLEClowney says he is 100 percent healthy as the Texans begin OTAs, ESPN.com reports.

Clowney missed Week 17 and the Texans' wild-card playoff loss after suffering a Lisfranc injury last season, but fortunately didn't require surgery over the offseason. As a result, Clowney is fully healthy going into the upcoming campaign and participated in Monday's start of OTAs. Still just 23 years old, the former No. 1 pick certainly made strides over the course of his 13 games played last season, finishing with 40 tackles and 4.5 sacks, and will look to build on that success this term.

04/27/16DBCharles JamesFootPROBABLEJames was placed on injured reserve after suffering a foot injury in Sunday's win over the Titans.

James has been playing with a foot injury the past few weeks and it finally caught up with him.
