09/25/16DEEzekiel AnsahANKLEOUTAnsah (ankle) is getting a second opinion on his ankle injury, Adam Caplan of ESPN.com reports.

Ansah has not practiced this week after he suffered a high-ankle sprain in Sunday's loss to the Titans. The defensive end is expected to miss extended time, but getting a second opinion from a different doctor could change his status. Check back later in the week for more updates on the specifics of the injury. In the meantime, it is assumed that Kerry Hyder, Wallace Gilberry and Brandon Copeland could all see extra snaps if Ansah is sidelined for Week 3.

09/25/16CBAdairius BarnesANKLEOUTBarnes (ankle) has been ruled out for the Lions' matchup against the Packers on Sunday, Tim Twentyman of the team's official site reports.

Barnes was previously considered questionable. His absence limits Detroit to four healthy cornerbacks available to deploy against Packers QB Aaron Rodgers.

    (Updated 09/24/2016)
09/25/16TEEric EbronBACKQUESTIONABLEEbron (back) is listed as questionable for Sunday's game in Green Bay, despite logging a full practice Friday.

While the 'questionable' designation isn't necessarily what owners want to see, Ebron did increase his practice participation throughout the week, returning as a limited participant Thursday and then logging a full session Friday. He thus seems likely to play in Sunday's game, looking to build on a solid start to the season. With Ameer Abdullah (foot) on injured reserve, the Detroit passing game could be even busier than usual, albeit in a tricky matchup.

    (Updated 09/23/2016)
09/25/16DEWallace GilberryABDOMENQUESTIONABLEThe Lions have signed Gilberry, the Cincinnati Enquirer reports.

Gilberry, who was limited to 23 tackles and two sacks in 16 games for the Bengals last season, bolsters the Lions' defensive end depth, though his path to IDP relevance hinges on him securing his share of snaps at the position opposite Ziggy Ansah.

    (Updated 04/05/2016)
09/25/16LBDeAndre LevyQUADRICEPSOUTLevy (quadriceps) will not play on Sunday, Tim Twentyman of the Lions' official site reports.

Levy was previously listed as doubtful to play against the Packers. His absence is a blow for a Detroit defense already without the likes of DE Ziggy Ansah (ankle).

    (Updated 09/24/2016)
09/25/16TRiley ReiffANKLEQUESTIONABLEThe Lions have picked up the fifth-year option of offensive tackle Riley Reiff, general manager Martin Mayhew has announced.
09/25/16DEDevin TaylorANKLEQUESTIONABLETaylor (ankle) returned to practice on Friday after missing Thursday's practice with an ankle injury, MLive.com reports.

It appears Taylor avoided structural damage in his ankle and, consequently, he shouldn't miss any time moving forward. The South Carolina product has racked up 13 tackles and 1.5 sacks thus far into the season, but is not expected to have stud DE Ezekiel Ansah bookending the opposite side of the defensive line in the Lions' Week 3 matchup against the Packers, potentially allowing Green Bay blockers to devote more attention his way than Detroit's previous two opponents were able to.

    (Updated 09/23/2016)
09/25/16LBKyle Van NoyCALFQUESTIONABLELions coach Jim Caldwell said linebacker Kyle Van Noy will not need surgery after he went for a second opinion. Caldwell added Van Noy will need rest and is week-to-week.
09/25/16DTTyrunn WalkerCALFQUESTIONABLEWalker re-signed with the Lions, inking a one-year deal on Thursday, Justin Rogers of MLive.com reports.

Walker signed a one-year contract with the Lions last season and will now remain with the team for at least another year. In 2015 he played in four games, recording nine tackles.

    (Updated 03/10/2016)
09/25/16GLarry WarfordILLNESSQUESTIONABLELions offensive lineman Larry Warford is still bothered by a high ankle sprain, but he hopes to begin practicing this week, reports MLive.com.
09/25/16LBAntwione WilliamsHAMSTRINGOUTWilliams (hamstring) will not play on Sunday, Tim Twentyman of the Lions' official site reports.

With starter DeAndre Levy (quadriceps) also ruled out, the Lions will have just two healthy outside linebackers to deploy against the Packers.

    (Updated 09/24/2016)
09/11/16LBJosh BynesKneeOUTBynes (knee) reached an injury settlement, and was cut by the Lions on Saturday, Dave Birkett of the Detroit Free Press reports.

Bynes had been placed on the injured-reserve with a knee injury. The severity of his knee injury is still unknown. He had originally projected to provide linebacker depth for the Lions this season.

09/25/16SColt AndersonFOOTOUTAnderson (foot) did not practice Friday and listed as out for Sunday's game against Arizona.

Anderson practiced in a limited fashion Wednesday and Thursday but was absent from Friday's practice. It's unsure why he was held out, but there has been speculation that he may have suffered some sort of setback during Thursday's practice. Regardless, Anderson was not expected to get much run against Arizona.

    (Updated 09/23/2016)
09/25/16TECharles ClayKNEEQUESTIONABLEClay (knee) is officially listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Cardinals.

Clay was limited in practice both Thursday and Friday after missing Wednesday's session completely. That suggests Clay is trending toward being available despite his knee injury Sunday, when the Bills' offense could lean on him more if wideout Sammy Watkins (foot) is inactive.

    (Updated 09/23/2016)
09/25/16CBRonald DarbyHAMSTRINGQUESTIONABLEDarby (hamstring) is questionable to play on Sunday.

If he doesn't suit up, Nickell Robey-Coleman projects to start at corner opposite Stephon Gilmore.

    (Updated 09/24/2016)
09/25/16TCordy GlennANKLEOUTBills left tackle Cordy Glenn has a knee injury and will not return to Sunday's game against the Patriots. Glenn injured his knee early in the fourth quarter and was able to limp off the field.
09/25/16QBCardale JonesRIGHT SHOULDERQUESTIONABLEJones (shoulder) is inactive for Thursday night's game against the Jets.

Jones' shoulder is getting better to the point where he's practicing again, but the team will choose to suit up just two quarterbacks in this one and maybe for the time being. In other words, Jones may end up being a healthy inactive a number of times this season.

    (Updated 09/15/2016)
09/25/16WRGreg SalasGROINQUESTIONABLESalas (groin) is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Cardinals.

Salas was limited in practice both Thursday and Friday, but could become a more important member of the Bills' passing game should Sammy Watkins (foot) be ruled out Sunday. While Salas will need to be active himself for that to happen, his upside this weekend seems higher than it usually would while carrying a groin injury.

    (Updated 09/23/2016)
09/25/16WRSammy WatkinsFOOTQUESTIONABLEWatkins (foot) is not on the field for the start of Friday's practice.

This is not good at all considering Rex Ryan expressed "heightened concern" Thursday about Watkins' availability for Sunday's game against the Cardinals. He's actually played through a lot of pain in his brief career, though at best we can expect a questionable status when the official report comes out later Friday.

    (Updated 09/23/2016)
08/24/16LBKevin ReddickKneeQUESTIONABLEReddick, who suffered a sprained MCL in practice Friday, was waived/injured by the Bills on Sunday.

The Bills didn't have much choice here with several other linebackers injured and reinforcements needed. If Reddick clears injury waivers, the Bills can then either place the him on IR or agree to an injury settlement with him.

    (Updated 08/07/2016)
08/17/16DLMarcell DareusSuspensionSUSPENDDareus (suspension) has opted to leave the Bills in order to receive treatment. "After careful consideration of recent events within my life, I have made the decision to enter a rehabilitation facility," he said in a statement. "I feel this is the best decision for me, my family and my teammates as I move forward with my career. I appreciate the support of my teammates and the Bills organization through this process."

Earlier this week, Dareus received his second suspension for a violation of the NFL's Policy and Program for Substances of Abuse. Among other issues in his personal life, he'll extend his time away from the team with the aim of getting on the straight and narrow. If the defensive tackle indeed comes back to the Bills with a different state of mind, his pass-rushing prowess will be valuable, as he's notched 31.5 sacks in 78 career games.

    (Updated 08/20/2016)
07/29/16WRKolby ListenbeePelvisOUTListenbee, still recovering from double hernia surgery, was placed on the Reserve/Non-Football Injury list on Tuesday, BuffaloBills.com reports.

Listenbee will miss at least the first six weeks of the regular season. The Bills have a major logjam at wide receiver and with some tough roster decisions to make may just stash the speedy Listenbee away for the bulk of the season, then work on his upside once he's fully healthy and more prepared for action.
