11/04/15RBTrey WattsSuspensionSUSPENDWatts was signed by the Rams on Friday, ESPN's Nick Wagoner reports.

Watts was promoted from the practice squad, suggesting that Tre Mason (ankle) is unlikely to play. Even if he's active, Watts won't necessarily get any touches.

08/18/16DLKyle LoveHeadPROBABLELove appears to have cleared concussion protocol, ESPN's David Newton reports.

Love was seen walking to practice Monday with his helmet in hand, indicating he's ready to return from last week's hit to the head. Having him available gives the Panthers another big body along their defensive front, where Kawann Short, Star Lotulelei and Vernon Butler lead the interior line options.

07/31/16DLKony EalyHeadPROBABLEEaly was back on the practice field Thursday after dealing with a concussion since Saturday, Steve Reed of the Associated Press reports.

Ealy remained under the league's concussion protocol until Wednesday, but passed all necessary tests in order to return for Thursday's morning session. The issue appears to be in the past as the Panthers look forward to their first preseason game against the Ravens in one week.

07/31/16DBLeonard JohnsonUndisclosedNFIJohnson began training camp on the active/non-football injury list with an Achilles injury.

Johnson suffered the injury last season when he was with the Patriots but did not undergo surgery until this offseason. The cornerback can be removed from the list at any point and rejoin the team on the field. There will be plenty of reps for young Panthers' defensive backs to begin camp with Johnson and fellow corner Bene Benwikere (ankle) both on the sidelines.
