10/23/16DTGlenn DorseyKNEEQUESTIONABLEThe 49ers have listed Dorsey (knee) as questionable for Sunday's game against the Buccaneers.

Dorsey returned to action last week after being sidelined in Week 5 due to a nagging knee injury. He was able to practice in full on Wednesday, but spent the rest of the week practicing in a limited role. The veteran is trending toward a game-time decision Sunday.

10/23/16RBCarlos HydeSHOULDEROUTHyde (shoulder) has been ruled out for Sunday's game against Tampa Bay.

As expected, the 49ers' workhorse will miss at least one game, leaving the team's backfield in the hands of Mike Davis and Shaun Draughn, with DuJuan Harris getting a call up from the practice squad. Hyde doesn't believe the injury is a long-term concern, and with the 49ers on bye in Week 8, it's quite possible he'll only miss the one game. Davis is the favorite to lead the team in carries on Sunday, after replacing Draughn as the No. 2 running back in last week's loss to the Bills. Draughn is still the favorite for passing-down work, and he could also end up getting more carries if he outplays Davis early in the game.

10/23/16CBRashard RobinsonCONCUSSIONQUESTIONABLERobinson (concussion) is questionable for Sunday's matchup with the Buccaneers.

Robinson's concussion occurred in last week's loss to the Bills. Robinson has started the last three games fore the 49ers, but that streak is in jeopardy unless the rookie can pass the league's concussion protocol.

10/23/16WRTorrey SmithBACKQUESTIONABLESmith (back) is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against Tampa Bay.

A mid-week addition to Thursday's injury report, Smith still managed to log limited practices both Thursday and Friday. His participation in any capacity suggests he should be able to play, but if not, Rod Streater and/or Aaron Burbridge would join Quinton Patton and Jeremy Kerley in three-wide sets. Even in a favorable matchup, the San Francisco passing game offers little cause for excitement.

09/20/16DLIan WilliamsUndisclosedOUTWilliams was placed on the Reserve/Non-Football Injury list Saturday, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.

This move was made to make room on the roster for offensive lineman Anthony Davis who was reinstated by the league from retirement Saturday. It remains to be seen when Williams will play again.

09/05/16WRDeAndre SmelterHamstringQUESTIONABLESmelter (hamstring) was added to the 49ers' practice squad, Matt Maiocco of CSN Bay Area reports.

Smelter was cut by the 49ers prior to the season after suffering a hamstring injury during training camp. Prior to the injury, the 2015 fourth-round pick had light breakout potential due to his size and athleticism. It is unclear if and when the 49ers will give Smelter a chance on the 53-man roster, or even if his hamstring injury has fully healed. While he is definitely not a player worth picking up right now, there is still potential for a late-season appearance where the team tries to get a better look at their former top receiving prospect on a team devoid of reliable options at that position.

10/23/16WRDeSean JacksonSHOULDERQUESTIONABLEJackson (shoulder) is listed as questionable for Sunday's game in Detroit.

With TE Jordan Reed (concussion) already ruled out, Washington's passing attack would be rather thin if Jackson weren't able to play. The speedy wideout does seem to be trending in the right direction, returning to practice Friday after sitting out Wednesday and Thursday, according to Master Tesfatsion of The Washington Post. Head coach Jay Gruden said Thursday that he thinks Jackson will be able to play, Brian McNally of 106.7 The FAN reports.

10/23/16TEJordan ReedCONCUSSIONOUTReed (concussion) has been ruled out for Sunday's game in Detroit.

Given his lengthy history of concussions, it's not exactly surprising that Reed will take more than one week to make it through the league's protocol. Vernon Davis will fill in as the top tight end, with Niles Paul potentially also getting some looks. Wideouts Jamison Crowder, Pierre Garcon and DeSean Jackson (hamstring) could also take on a few extra targets.

07/29/16RBSilas ReddSuspensionSUSPENDThe NFL has suspended Redd indefinitely for a violation of the league's Policy and Program for Substances of Abuse, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.

Bans of this variety are due to continued positive tests, which is evident as Redd has yet to serve a four-gamer for a similar violation due to his recovery from a torn ACL and MCL. Once healthy enough to return to the field, he'll have to bide his time and do his due diligence considering NFL commissioner Roger Goodell will be in charge of any reinstatement effort.

07/25/16LBJunior GaletteAchillesOUTGalette will have surgery to repair his torn right Achilles tendon, ruling him out for this season.

Galette's injury was revealed last week, but there remained a small hope that he may be able to avoid surgery and eventually play this year. However, upon since announcing his decision to undergo surgery, Galette can now be ruled out for the entire 2016 campaign, marking his second straight season lost due to an Achilles injury. With Galette sidelined once again, the Redskins will hope Preston Smith can build on his eight-sack rookie season and work with Trent Murphy at Washington's outside linebacker position opposite Ryan Kerrigan.
