After a successful season leading the Lions' top-ranked defense, defensive coordinator Teryl Austin is emerging as a candidate to interview for several head coaching jobs. He's coached defensive backs for the Cardinals, Seahawks and Ravens and has earned rave reviews for his first season in Detroit.
Cardinals running back Jonathan Dwyer's trial is scheduled for March 4, the Associated Press reports. Dwyer has pleaded not guilty to felony aggravated assault and eight misdemeanors during a July 21 incident.
Cardinals linebacker Daryl Washington has been suspended for the entire 2014 season for violating the league's substance-abuse policy. He was suspended four games last season for violating the same policy.
