Patriots second-year receivers Josh Boyce and Kenbrell Thompkins are on the roster bubble heading into training camp, with only one spot available, reports the team's website. Thompkins put up far better numbers as a rookie -- 32 catches, 466 yards, 4 TDs -- but he has inconsistent hands and Boyce is more explosive.
Patriots receiver Aaron Dobson, who had foot surgery in March, sounds confident he'll be available during training camp, reports the Boston Herald. "It’s doing better, man," he said. "It’s getting better every day. Every week it’s getting better, so we’re just going to see where it’s at by the time camp starts."
Patriots linebacker Jerod Mayo, who's coming back from a torn pectoral muscle, suggested he'll return for training camp in July, reports the Boston Herald. He's been working out at Gillette Stadium for a while.
