Three injured players have been placed on the inactive list by the Patriots for their season opener Thursday night against Pittsburgh. They are running back Travaris Cadet (hamstring), defensive lineman Trey Flowers (knee) and safety Tavon Wilson (quad).
Texans wide receiver Cecil Shorts caught 6 of 10 targets for 87 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's loss to the Falcons, but was forced to leave the game with a left arm injury.
Shorts showed good chemistry with quarterback Brian Hoyer after Hoyer replaced a struggling Ryan Mallett in the second half. Unfortunately, Shorts was seen with a sling on his left arm after the contest, putting his availability moving forward in doubt.
It's hard to imagine the receiver will be anywhere near full health by Houston's Thursday tilt with the Colts.
