10/24/16TEJordan ReedConcussionQUESTIONABLEReed has received clearance to participate in Wednesday's practice, but the approval of an independent neurologist stands between him and game action, Brian McNally of 106.7 The Fan DC reports.

Reed handled a limited practice last Wednesday, only to log no reps the rest of the week and be ruled out for Sunday's tilt at Detroit well in advance. There's a chance his workload is capped all week and he fails to get the all-clear from the aforementioned neurologist, but his status will nonetheless be monitored closely in the coming days. Another absence would keep Vernon Davis in the No. 1 tight end role yet again.

07/29/16RBSilas ReddSuspensionSUSPENDThe NFL has suspended Redd indefinitely for a violation of the league's Policy and Program for Substances of Abuse, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.

Bans of this variety are due to continued positive tests, which is evident as Redd has yet to serve a four-gamer for a similar violation due to his recovery from a torn ACL and MCL. Once healthy enough to return to the field, he'll have to bide his time and do his due diligence considering NFL commissioner Roger Goodell will be in charge of any reinstatement effort.

07/25/16LBJunior GaletteAchillesOUTGalette will have surgery to repair his torn right Achilles tendon, ruling him out for this season.

Galette's injury was revealed last week, but there remained a small hope that he may be able to avoid surgery and eventually play this year. However, upon since announcing his decision to undergo surgery, Galette can now be ruled out for the entire 2016 campaign, marking his second straight season lost due to an Achilles injury. With Galette sidelined once again, the Redskins will hope Preston Smith can build on his eight-sack rookie season and work with Trent Murphy at Washington's outside linebacker position opposite Ryan Kerrigan.

10/24/16DLSharrif FloydKneeQUESTIONABLEFloyd (knee) will not play Sunday against the Eagles.

Floyd was held out of practice this week and didn't appear likely to suit up anyway. Linval Joseph and Tom Johnson will operate as the Vikings' top defensive tackles.

10/24/16TEMyCole PruittKneeQUESTIONABLEPruitt (knee) has been ruled out of Sunday's game against the Eagles.

Pruitt hasn't practiced since suffering a knee injury in Week 5, so he'll remain sidelined for Sunday's game in Philadelphia. That absence will leave the Vikings with one less tight end option behind Kyle Rudolph and Rhett Ellison.

07/29/16QBTaylor HeinickeAnkleOUTHeinicke (ankle) returned to practice Wednesday after a lengthy recovery stemming from July foot surgery, Matt Vensel of the Star Tribune reports.

Heinicke has a three-week window for the Vikings to either activate him from the reserve/NFI list, waive him, or send him to IR. If he's activated he'll likely serve as the No. 3 option at quarterback behind starter Sam Bradford and veteran backup Shaun Hill.
