08/15/16QBBruce GradkowskiHamstringOUTGradkowski, who is dealing with a left hamstring injury, is going to be out for "a number of weeks," per coach Mike Tomlin, the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports.

The veteran QB could miss the rest of the preseason and in Gradkowski's absence, Dustin Vaughan figures to see added practice reps behind Ben Roethlisberger and Landry Jones.

08/11/16RBLe'Veon BellSuspensionSUSPENDBell (suspension) had his suspension reduced on Thursday from four games to three, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.

Bell's suspension for missed drug tests was reduced through a settlement by the NFL and the NFLPA. Bell is unquestionably one of the top fantasy running backs, averaging over 100 yards from scrimmage per game before being injured after just six tilts last season. The reduction in his suspension increases his fantasy stock slightly, while minorly reducing that of DeAngelo Williams, who'll be the team's No. 1 back while Bell is out.

08/02/16DBSenquez GolsonFootDOUBTFULGolson (foot) claims he is a targeting a return to practice seven weeks from now, Dale Lolley of the Observer-Reporter reports.

Golson underwent Lisfranc surgery roughly two weeks ago, but the former second round pick from 2015 is already mapping out his return to action. Just 23-years-old, Golson possesses tremendous upside and the Steelers remain optimistic that he can still carve out a role with the defense at some point in the season.

03/14/16WRMartavis BryantSuspensionSUSPENDBryant was never under consideration of being cut by the Steelers despite his recently imposed year-long suspension, the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review reports.

Bryant's multiple violations of the league's substance abuse policy triggered a minimum one-year suspension from the league, but the Steelers never considered releasing him, according to general manager Kevin Colbert. Instead, Pittsburgh will hope Bryant makes the necessary changes to his life to get reinstated next year, when he would have two years remaining on his contract with the team. With Bryant suspended, Steelers receivers Markus Wheaton and, more specifically, Sammie Coates, will be looked upon to take advantage of their increased opportunities this season.

08/16/16WRBrandon LaFellHandQUESTIONABLELaFell (hand) participated in practice on Sunday, Jim Owczarski of the Enquirer reports.

LaFell is dealing with ligament damage in his right hand, but expects to play through the injury for the time being. Coach Marvin Lewis indicated earlier in the week that it wouldn't cost LaFell any regular season action, so it appears he's not at risk of missing significant time. He was back at practice Sunday and barring any setbacks, he should continue to start opposite A.J. Green.

08/15/16DLAndrew BillingsKneeDOUBTFULBillings had surgery to repair a torn mensicus Monday and has been ruled out indefinitely, ESPN's Adam Schefter reports.

Billings was carted out of practice after injuring his knee last Wednesday, and is now in danger of losing his rookie season due to injury. After surprisingly sliding to the fourth round of the draft, Billings seemed a solid investment for the Bengals' defensive front, which is also without Brandon Thompson right now while he recovers from last season's torn ACL.

08/02/16TETyler KroftKneeQUESTIONABLEKroft will be out 4-to-6 weeks with a sprained knee, the Cincinnati Enquirer reports.

Kraft is still expected to be back by Week 1, but that's a pretty loose time frame. Meanwhile, C.J. Uzomah and Ryan Hewitt will take over at tight end, with Tyler Eifert also out.

04/27/16LBVontaze BurfictSuspensionSUSPENDIn a media luncheon on Tuesday, head coach Marvin Lewis confirmed, "I am not going to play Vontaze Burfict in the preseason," Paul Dehner Jr. of Cincinnati.com reports.

Burfict is suspended for the first three games of the regular season but is still eligible to play in the preseason by league rules. However, Lewis would rather play it safe and keep his star linebacker on the sidelines, keeping him safe from injuries and any on-the-field issue that could extend his suspension. Lewis said, "There's no reason for us to risk him getting hurt. It's hard because he's so competitive we have to continue to hold him back. One day he gets it the next day he wants to fight me on it. That's it. There's no reason to expose him to injury because he's too valuable." With Burfict out of the rotation, more reps will be allocated to young Bengals' linebackers.
