49ers WR Michael Crabtree will start vs. Rams
San Francisco wide receiver Michael Crabtree will be in the starting lineup when the 49ers host St. Louis on Sunday.
San Francisco wide receiver Michael Crabtree hasn't played in a game since the 49ers lost Super Bowl XLVII in February, but that will change on Sunday. The 49ers announced that Crabtree is officially active and will start against St. Louis.
The 26-year-old wide receiver hasn't played since tearing his Achilles tendon in May.
Crabtree's presence on the field should be good news for quarterback Colin Kaeernick and a 49ers offense that's ranked dead last in passing through 12 weeks this year
Last season, Crabtree led the 49ers and was 14th in the NFL with 1,105 receiving yards. Crabtree hasn't played since catching five passes for 109 yards and a touchdown in San Francisco's 34-31 loss to Baltimore in Super Bowl XLVII.
Without Crabtree, Kaepernick has been throwing almost everything to Anquan Boldin or Vernon Davis. Boldin and Davis have combined to catch all 14 of Kaepernick's touchdown passes this season and 1,347 -- or 66.1 percent -- of his 2,037 passing yards.
