A testy Belichick says black eye is 'great,' mum on Chandler Jones

It's been a weird week for Bill Belichick, who showed up to work with a black eye and was later seen with boxing gloves.

On Thursday, the grumpier-than-usual Patriots coach met with the media where, invariably, he was asked about how he got the shiner.

To recap:

Reporter: "How does your eye feel? How did you hurt it?"

Belichick: "Great."

Alrighty then.

It got worse from there. Belichick was also asked about defensive end Chandler Jones, who reportedly showed up at the Foxborough Police Department and was later hospitalized due to a bad reaction to synthetic marijuana.

Not surprisingly, the Patriots coach was tight-lipped -- and a little testy.

And with that, the press conference was over.

Shorter Belichick: We're on to Kansas City!
