Bengals take DT Geno Atkins (ACL) off PUP list, available to practice
The Bengals got some great news on Wednesday in regards to their defensive line.
Nine months after Bengals defensive tackle Geno Atkins ended his 2013 season prematurely by tearing his ACL, Cincinnati got some good news Wednesday. That's because the team took him off the PUP list, which means Atkins now will be available to practice.
Atkins signed a five-year, $55 million extension in September of 2013, and at the time of his injury, Atkins led the team with six sacks a season after recording 12.5 in 2012.
Wednesday's move isn't a total shock. Defensive coordinator Paul Guenther said last week he thought Atkins would be ready to play by Week 1.
