The Bills have signed linebacker Brandon Spikes, the team announced Saturday.

The former Patriots arrives in Buffalo after spending four seasons with New England. He started 11 games in 2013 and registered 86 tackles and an interception. He joins one of the league's best young players, linebacker Kiko Alonso, along with Manning Lawson and just-signed Keith Rivers.

Spikes ranked sixth among all inside linebackers last season, according to ProFootballFocus.com (behind only NaVorro Bowman, Patrick Willis, Derrick Johnson, Stephen Tuclloch and Karlos Dansby), but that was primarily due to his run-stopping ability. In fact, he ranked first as a run-stuffer but 38th in pass coverage.

The Bills have also recently signed Corey Graham, guard Chris Williams and running back Anthony Dixon.
