Brady Quinn wins competition, contract as Seahawks backup QB
The Seahawks are signing Brady Quinn after the quarterback won a competition with Tyler Thigpen and Matt Leinart for a backup job.
Brady Quinn won the quarterback competition in Seattle and is being signed by the team, according to a league source.
Quinn spent last season in Kansas City, playing when Matt Cassel was injured, and is a former first-round pick by the Browns out of Notre Dame. Leinart, a former first-round pick himself, played for Seahawks coach Pete Carroll in college at USC, while Thigpen had the more athletic skill set to run Russell Wilson-like read-option plays.
