Broncos sign first-round pick CB Bradley Roby
The Broncos have their entire draft class under contract after signing first-round pick Bradley Roby on Tuesday.
The Broncos got a late start on signing their draft picks, but they finished fast. Denver announced on Tuesday that first-round pick Bradley Roby is officially under contract, meaning the Broncos have now signed their entire 2014 draft class.
The 31st overall pick signed a four-year deal with a team option for a fifth year. According to NFL.com, Roby's deal is worth a total of $6.95 million with 80 percent of that amount fully guaranteed. Roby's contract also includes a $3.38 million signing bonus.
The Broncos were one of only two teams -- along with the Rams -- who went into to June without a draft pick under contract. However, it didn't take long for Denver to fix that. The Broncos signed Cody Latimer on June 2, then wrapped up the rookie signings with Roby's on Tuesday.
CBSSports.com senior writer Pete Prisco gave the Roby pick a B+, calling it a "Great pick. I thought he was one of the top two cornerbacks in the draft. And he fills an immediate need."
Roby ran into some legal trouble before the draft when he was arrested for an OVI in Ohio in April. Roby eventually pleaded guilty to a reduced charge of having "physical control" of a vehicle while impaired.
The former Ohio State star was fined $375 plus court costs and given 180 days in jail. However, Roby can avoid any jail time by undergoing three days of a driver intervention program.
