Browns trade McCoy to 49ers for late-round pick
The Cleveland Browns have traded quarterback Colt McCoy to the San Francisco 49ers for a late-round draft pick, according to league sources.
McCoy will back up Colin Kaepernick, and the Browns will save money with McCoy scheduled to make $1.3 million this season.
Cleveland recently signed quarterback Jason Campbell to compete with Brandon Weeden for the starting job. McCoy, who was drafted by the Browns in the third round in 2010 out of Texas, had started for Cleveland before the selection of Weeden in the first round of the 2012 NFL Draft.
