Buccaneers sign first-round pick, WR Mike Evans
With his rookie contract, Buccaneers receiver Mike Evans should receive a four-year deal worth $14.63 million.
The Buccaneers have signed No. 7 overall pick, receiver Mike Evans, the team announced Thursday.
Though it seemed there was a possibility Tampa Bay would take a quarterback in the first round, the Buccaneers instead selected the tall, physical receiver who shined with Johnny Manziel at Texas A&M.
CBSSports.com's Pete Prisco immediately praised the selection.
Mike Evans: This is who Bucs wanted. They were scared he wouldn't be there. They had to get a playmaker opposite Jackson. B+— Pete Prisco (@PriscoCBS) May 9, 2014
Evans' contract is a four-year deal (with a team option for year No. 5) that should be worth a fully-guaranteed $14.63 million with a signing bonus of $8.96 million.
