Buccaneers to unveil new logo and helmet
The Buccaneers will look slightly different when they take the field in 2014. The team will be unveiling a new helmet and logo on Thursday.
After 17 years, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers have decided it's time for a change. Former Bucs defensive lineman and NFL Hall of Famer Warren Sapp announced on Twitter that he'll be unveiling a new Tampa Bay helmet and a logo this week. The team confirmed that Sapp's not making this up and that the new look will be unveiled at 8 p.m. ET on Thursday on NFL Network.
It's not clear what the new helmet will look like, but Sapp did offer one detail.
I'll give y'all a lil, helmet has a #ChromeGrill— Warren Sapp (@WarrenSapp) February 18, 2014
The helmet and logo change will mark the first time the Buccaneers have modified their look since 1997 when the team dropped the Creamsicle helmets below and went to the red, pewter and black helmets pictured above.
