Cardinals sign first-round pick SS Deone Bucannon
The Cardinals have their entire 2014 draft class under contract after signing first-round pick Deone Bucannon on Thursday.
When the Cardinals open up their mandatory minicamp on June 10, they'll do it with all of their 2014 draft picks under contract. First-round pick Deone Bucannon signed his contract on Thursday, becoming the final member of Arizona's six player class to sign.
The 27th overall pick signed a four-year deal with a team option for a fifth year. Although the terms haven't been announced, the deal is expected to be worth $7.71 million and include a $3.93 million signing bonus.
Bucannon was all over the field in 2013 for Washington State. The safety picked off six passes in 2013, a number that ranked No. 1 in the Pac-12 and No. 6 in the country.
CBSSports.com senior writer Pete Prisco gave the Bucannon pick a B. Prisco thought it was smart for the Cardinals to take a safety, but he thought Arizona should have gone with Jimmie Ward, who was also available.
On a completely unrelated note, Bucannon isn't just good at football either.
