Chad Johnson arrested by Broward County Sheriff
After having a warrant issued for his arrest last week, free-agent wide receiver Chad Johnson was arrested this week after turning himself in to police.
Late last week the Broward County Sheriff's Office confirmed to CBSSports.com that an arrest warrant was issued for free-agent wideout Chad Johnson (née Ochocinco) after he violated his probation stemming from a domestic violence arrest last summer.
Johnson turned himself in and has now been arrested by the sheriff, a search of the Broward County arrest database confirms.
Lest you think it could be a different Chad Johnson, a relatively sharp-looking mugshot confirms it is the former wideout:
Johnson pleaded no contest to a domestic violence charge last summer and was given probation.
The wideout, who hasn't played in the NFL since a disappointing season with the Patriots in 2011, was tweeting throughout the time when he was rumored to be on the lam.
His account (@ochocinco) has been inactive since May 16, however, probably as a smart result of wanting to limit putting anything public out there.
