Chiefs WR Donnie Avery out remainder of game with concussion

Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Donnie Avery has been ruled out for the remainder of Saturday's wild-card game against the Indianapolis Colts with a concussion.

Avery left in the third quarter, though it's unclear when the injury occurred. Before departing, he had a catch for 79 yards and a touchdown.

A former Colt, Avery finished the regular season with 40 catches for 596 yards and two scores.

The Chiefs already lost a major offensive weapon Saturday when Jamaal Charles left after suffering a concussion on the team's opening drive.
