Chip Kelly isn't interested in talking about Oregon or the NCAA

Reports percolating on Tuesday morning indicate that the University of Oregon is about to find itself in some hot water with the NCAA. Conveniently for Chip Kelly, he's no longer there, having left for the NFL this offseason to become coach of the Philadelphia Eagles.

But that doesn't mean Kelly wants to talk about what's going on with the Ducks, and he released a statement on Tuesday saying as much.

"I am aware of the recent reports and of the ongoing investigation being conducted by the NCAA and the University of Oregon," Kelly said in a statement released by the team. "While at Oregon, I know we were fully cooperative with all aspects of the investigation and I will continue to contribute in any way that I can. But until the NCAA rules on the matter, I will have no further comment."

Kelly is scheduled to meet with the Philadelphia media at 2:30 p.m. ET on Tuesday, so it's smart of the Eagles to get out in front of the Oregon reports that popped up Tuesday morning.

Needless to say, there will be more than Trent Edwards being released by the Eagles to talk about later Tuesday afternoon.

It's unlikely that the Philly media will give him a free pass just based on his statement (not that they should). Kelly will probably end up saying a lot of things like, "I've said everything I'm going to say about Oregon" and "We're really not in a position to comment at this time."

That's nice and all, but it's just another reason why Kelly will be one of the most scrutinized NFL coaches we've seen in a long time.
