The Colts knocked off the Browns on Sunday afternoon to improve to 3-3, but the most encouraging news of the day was about coach Chuck Pagano, who was released from the hospital Sunday morning and got to watch his victorious team from the comforts of his home.
In much the same way that Pagano -- who’s undergoing treatment for leukemia -- lifted his team spiritually two weeks ago in an emotional 30-27 win against the Packers, much of the Colts' postgame thoughts Sunday were focused on the coach and his journey back home.
"I was more thrilled about that than getting the win,” quarterback Andrew Luck said, via the Indianapolis Star.
Said a joking Reggie Wayne: "He'll probably have to go back to the hospital] tomorrow after watching this game. We made it tough on ourselves.
"But when we got the news [about him going home], that was great news. Hopefully he was able to rest a little bit and get comfortable in his own house, his own couch or his own bed and he could sit back and smile at the end.”
