Colts release safety Tom Zbikowski
The Indianapolis Colts announced Friday that they released safety Tom Zbikowski. The fifth-year player out of Notre Dame spent four seasons with the Ravens before joining the Colts.
After signing safety LaRon Landry, Zbikowski became expendable. The Colts' secondary has upgraded in a big way, adding Landry and cornerback Greg Toler to buoy a defensive backfield that was Indianapolis' weakness last season.
Zbikowski, 27, started 11 games for the Colts and had 47 tackles in 2012, but his time on the field was sure to diminish with the addition of Landry.
