Cowboys-Giants: David Wilson upset after fumble, Rob Ryan pumped after defensive stop

The Giants drafted running back David Wilson in the first round to bolster a decidedly weak ground game. Midway through the first quarter Wednesday, New York's rushing attack looked to be in 2011 form, and all Wilson could manage was a fumble. Meanwhile, Cowboys defensive coordinator Rob Ryan was excited with how well his unit played in the first half.

The Giants drafted running back David Wilson in the first round to bolster a decidedly weak ground game. Midway through the first quarter, New York's rushing attacked looked to be in 2011 form, and all Wilson could manage was a fumble that landed him on the sideline for most of the half (via SBNation).

Afterward, the rookie was visibly upset, and coach Tom Coughlin, an assistant coach and teammates all spoke with Wilson on the sideline.

Good news for Wilson: On the ensuing possession, the Cowboys ended up losing the ball on downs. That said, Coughlin may have to dust off his notes from "How I saved Tiki Barber's career by teaching him to hold a football like a grandmother clutching her purse in a bad neighborhood." 

Meanwhile, on the other sideline, Cowboys defensive coordinator Rob Ryan was PUMPED with how well his unit played in the first half. A Tony Romo interception gave the Giants the ball at the Dallas 2-yard line. Two runs and an incomplete pass later (OK, it should have been defensive holding but it wasn't called -- it happens), New York had to kick and Rob Ryan celebrated like, well, Rob Ryan.

We're pretty sure he said either "Shut the front door!" or "Let's go eat a [expletive] snack!"
