Cowboys sign former Pro Bowl guard Brian Waters to shore up O-line
Brian Waters was out of the NFL last season but has been the main target of the Cowboys, who signed the former Pro Bowl guard Tuesday.
Former Pro Bowl guard Brian Waters signed with the Cowboys on Tuesday, according to a league source.
It's potentially a huge move to improve Dallas' offensive line and run game. Waters excelled for the Patriots in 2011 and sat out all of 2012.
The Cowboys have been in contact with Waters since before camp but had been unwilling to meet his contract demands. At one point, when talks broke down, the Cowboys signed veteran guard Brandon Moore, then Moore promptly retired.
Waters had been the Cowboys' main target and he signed after working out for the team Tuesday. He won't be able to get worked into the lineup this weekend, in all likelihood, but could make a significant impact on their season.
