The Buffalo Bills are in the process of being sold, with numerous ownership groups hunting the biggest game on the plains. According to a Bills fan group, one ownership group is plotting more than just a purchase.

The Bills Fan Alliance, via the Associated Press, uncovered a document describing a Rogers Communications consult named Rajiy "Roger" Rai as "part of the ownership group attempting to move the Buffalo Bills to Toronto."

The AP claims it "verified the document exist." It appears the document in question is a public filing for a company named "Keek." But the document points to Rai's involvement with Rogers, a Canadian media conglomerate.

Rogers is part of the Bon Jovi group bidding to land the Bills, which was reportedly named a finalist in the sale process. The rocker's been associated with rumors involving Toronto (understandably: again, Rogers is a Canadian company.

He recently wrote a letter to the Buffalo News professing his "commitment" to keeping the Bills in Buffalo.

"My family and I are prepared to make this life-changing commitment to be part of the Bills. This is not a hobby or an acquisition. Building a winner on and off the field will be job one and I intend to spend as much time on the ground in Buffalo as needed to accomplish that goal," Bon Jovi wrote. "Our objective is simple: to carry on the legacy of Ralph Wilson and make the Bills successful in Buffalo."

Rai told the Associated Press Wednesday he's "not involved with the group's ownership bid" and called the reference to the Bills in his bio "a mistake on my behalf."

Whether or not this is an honest mistake and something not to be concerned with, it's pretty clear this bit of information won't sit well with Bills fans or anyone who wants the team to remain in Buffalo.

If Bon Jovi isn't careful he could find his Bills bid ... living on a prayer.
