Dolphins back #TurtlePowerForJames after child nearly drowns

A near tragedy will -- hopefully -- once again result in a positive effect. Family and friends started the social media campaign #TurtlePowerForJames after one-year old James Edwards nearly drowned in South Florida last week the day after his younger brother was born.

The campaign's taken off on Twitter and a Facebook page with updates on the young boy has nearly 23,000 likes. Even the Dolphins are getting in on the action:

James was found face down in a gated pool by his grandfather, who was watching the boy while his parents were at the hospital. He apparently fell in while the grandfather was turned around; the grandfather jumped in and saved James, who's been sedated at the hospital PICU for the past few days.

His hospital room's been decorated with Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles; the "Turtle Power" portion of it is a reference to James' favorite television show.

It's a very cool thing to see all the support, including the local pro football team getting in on the action.

Additionally, Dolphins cheerleaders held up a sign for James at a recent Miami Dolphins Foundation fishing event.
Thoughts and prayers are with James and his family.
