The Indianapolis Colts may be on the verge of getting a big lift on offense, as wide receiver Donte Moncrief will return to practice this week. Moncrief will get in a limited practice on Wednesday, NFL Network reports.

Moncrief has been on the sidelines since Week 2 when he fractured his shoulder in a loss to the Denver Broncos. He was expected to be out four-to-six weeks and that timeline matches his return to the field this week.

Philip Dorsett, the Colts' 2015 first-round pick, had been expected to pick up much of the slack in Moncrief's absence, but instead disappointed. The speedster totaled only eight catches for 129 yards and a touchdown in four games before suffering an injury of his own (hamstring) and missing Indianapolis' Week 7 game against the Titans.

With starting tight end Dwayne Allen out for that game as well, T.Y. Hilton and Jack Doyle were Andrew Luck's primary targets. They both had excellent games but the Colts will surely welcome a bit more variety back to their offense. Moncrief had six catches for 64 yards and a touchdown in Week 1 and looked like he was going to take a bigger role in the offense before suffering the injury the following week. Hopefully for the Colts' sake, he and Luck pick up where they left off.
