Thursday night featured the first football game of the season and it also featured a whole pile of Peyton Manning touchdowns -- the Broncos quarterback lobbed seven of them en route to tying an NFL record. Naturally we busted out the podcast machine to break it down.
We also discussed how much trouble the Ravens are in on defense and whether or not there will be a massive over-reaction to Baltimore nearly giving up a 50-burger (there will be).
Is Joe Flacco ELITE? OK, OK. Is Joe Flacco in trouble? The first question is silly, but the second question is justifiable. This is especially true considering the Ravens history, the lack of personnel on offense, and what we saw Thursday, both from a "Dallas Clark is his No. 2 target" standpoint and Flacco being a Jekyll/Hyde type.
Plus, will Wes Welker actually go for 144 catches, 1,067 yards and 32 touchdowns this year (that's what he's on pace for)?
Ryan and I also make our Week 1 picks for the entire NFL, with Will going on a massive limb by himself and picking the Jaguars to upset the Chiefs, while Ryan goes out on an even longer, shakier limb and picks the Eagles to topple the Redskins.
