Falcons WR Roddy White to miss first game of career
Roddy White has been playing with injuries all season long. In Week 7, they are too severe to allow him to play.
You already know that Julio Jones is out for the season, but there was more bad news for Atlanta on Friday when the team announced that Roddy White has been ruled out with hamstring and ankle injuries. Along with White, whose streak of 133-consecutive games played will come to an end, running back Steven Jackson and tackle Sam Baker also won't play.
"That’s an unbelievable streak," assistant head coach Terry Robiskie said earlier this week, via ESPN.com. "I don’t know as far as it coming to an end or not coming to an end. I know Roddy is the toughest guy I’ve ever coached. And the thing I’ll say about the Roddy White I know is every single morning he wakes up, he’s preparing to play on Sunday. I know Roddy. I think Roddy will keep going and he’ll do the things that he needs to do to get well."
If you've got White -- who's never before missed a game in his career -- on your fantasy football team, let CBSSports.com senior fantasy writer Jamey Eisenberg guide you: "The Falcons could be without Roddy White in Week 7, which would elevate [Harry] Douglas to No. 1 on the depth chart. He has yet to score this season, but he does have two games with at least six Fantasy points. He also has seen at least six targets in three of five games, but his best production lies in front of him for the rest of the season. Also, put [Falcons receiver Drew] Davis and [Kevin] Cone on your radar in case they do anything in Week 7 vs. Tampa Bay."
