A fan at Candlestick Park in San Francisco died on Sunday during the 49ers and Packers game, according to the Associated Press

The man fell from an elevated pedestrian walkway at Candlestick. Witnesses told police that they believed the man was intoxicated. Off-duty medics attempted to revive the male at the scene of the accident, but were unable to. The identity of the man is being withheld until his family has been notified.

The incident occurred just after 4:30 p.m. ET, the 49ers and Packers kicked off at 4:25 p.m. ET.

This is the second serious accident to occur at an NFL stadium in less than two weeks. On Aug. 30, a fan at a Denver Broncos preseason game was seriously injured when he fell off an escalator.

Another incident occurred at Turner Field during an Atlanta Braves game when a fan fell 60-feet from the upperdeck and died. That death, on Aug. 12, was ruled an accident
