Fans burn Matt Schaub jersey after demoralizing Texans loss
Some Texans fans have seen enough of quarterback Matt Schaub, who tossed a late game-tying interception against the Seahawks Sunday.
Texans quarterback Matt Schaub singlehandedly kept the Seahawks in the game Sunday afternoon, tossing a "Oh my god, you're not really going to throw th-- YOU ACTUALLY THREW IT?!" pick-6 with just over five minutes to go in the fourth quarter. It was an off-balance arm punt that Seattle cornerback Richard Sherman fielded before sprinting 58 yards for the game-tying touchdown.
Seattle would go on to win in overtime, moving to 4-0 for the first time in franchise history. Houston, meanwhile, fell to 2-2 and will have to face the 49ers in San Francisco next Sunday night.
To say Texans' fans have seen enough of Schaub would be an understatement along the lines of "David Carr got sacked a lot as a rookie." In fact, they've taken to burning things.
So that happened. As Lance Zierlein of Sports Talk 790 in Houston and the SidelineView.com tweeted after the loss, Schaub's play has everything to do with the perception that he can't, you know, win big games.
The loss was so demoralizing even the RosenCopter got a mention.
One of the worst "shoulda been a win" losses I can remember from the texans ever. Reminiscent of the rosencopter loss to Colts. Terrible.— Lance Zierlein (@LanceZierlein) September 29, 2013
