Flying Dog Brewery fulfills Chris Cooley's contract beer request

When tight end Chris Cooley re-signed with the Redskins, he attempted something bold by requesting that as part of his contract he would receive a case of beer after every game.

The Redskins Heismaned him, but a third party stepped in to rectify the situation. Flying Dog Brewery announced Monday that, "after zero hours of negotiation, hearty handshakes and minimal amounts of rabble," it will hook Cooley up with a case of beer after every game.

"For us, it was heartbreaking to hear that this stellar athlete was denied the opportunity to have a beer at the end of each hard-fought game," Flying Dog said in a release. "So in the name of Cooley’s wish and in support of athletes in need, we knew we needed to step in."

The brewery announced Cooley will get a "Shock and Awe" variety pack for each of the Redskins' remaining six games.

The variety pack includes the "Raging Bitch Beligan-Style IPA," the "UnderDog Atlantic Lager," the "Pearl Necklace Oyster Stout," and the "Snake Dog IPA."

The Oyster Stout is outstanding and Flying Dog's "Doggie Style" pale ale is a staple of the Brinson household fridge, even if it causes Mrs. Brinson to roll her eyes every time she opens the door.

Now the brewery just needs to do something about providing thirsty bloggers with the proper amount of hops on Sundays. Ahem.
