Last week Will Hill went and got himself suspended for the first six games of 2014, the third time in the past three years Hill's been in trouble with the league.

The Giants made their feelings about Hill's suspension clear on Monday, releasing the safety.

Hill was signed as a free agent by the Giants during the 2012 season. 2013, despite being shortened because of suspension, was impressive for Hill. Nine starts, two picks, a touchdown scored, two passes defensed and two forced fumbles. 

Missing him, as Tom Coughlin said last week, will be "a difficult situation." 

"It is and it will be [a difficult situation]. There's no doubt about that part about it," Coughlin said. "In the spring, we try to get as many reps for as many people as we can. Right now we're three-deep back [at safety], so it's fine."
