Greg Jennings thanks Packers fans with newspaper ad

Greg Jennings might have asked for Brett Favre's advice before signing with the Vikings last week, but he's not taking taking the same path out of Green Bay that Favre did.

Unlike Favre's 'torch everything you see, cut all ties and leave a bad taste in everyone's mouth' departure, Jennings has decided to take the high-road.

The veteran wide receiver purchased a full-page ad in both the Green Bay Press-Gazette and Milwaukee Journal Sentinel to thank the Packers in what Jennings called "a bittersweet farewell."

"It has been 7 years since I was first blessed with the opportunity to be a part of such a wonderful organization and community. I want to take this time to thank each and every one of you for opening your arms and hearts to my family and me," the ad reads.

"Although the business side of this great game has brought about change, my family and I will be forever indebted to the Packers organization and fans for giving us the opportunity to be a part of an amazing culture," the ad concluded.

Minnesota is paying Jennings $45 million over five years -- including $17.8 million in guaranteed money -- to be a part of its culture.

Jennings now joins former Vikings kicker Ryan Longwell and Favre as high-profile Packer players who have made the move to Minnesota in recent years. However, if you're a Packers fan, it will probably be hard to stay mad at Jennings after this. Unless of course he has a 197-yard, three touchdown day in his return to Lambeau Field next season.
