Finalists for Super Bowl 52: Indy, New Orleans and Minnesota, I'm told. No Dallas.— Jarrett Bell (@JarrettBell) October 8, 2013
The note about Dallas means the NFLn still doesn’t see fit to head back to North Texas after a number of debacles occurred there during Super Bowl XLV. Aside from Dallas, other interested cities for Super Bowl LII were Tampa and Miami -- the latter of which lost out on Super Bowl L and LI because the city and the organization couldn’t figure out a way to fund a new or totally renovated stadium.
After the Super Bowl in Dallas, the city of Indianapolis had a wonderful showing for Super Bowl XLVI in its first role as host, and last year’s game in New Orleans reminded many scribes why they believe every Super Bowl should be held in New Orleans.
If New Orleans gets Super Bowl LII, the city would then host the game for a record 11th time. The only time Minneapolis-St. Paul has hosted the game was in 1992 for Super Bowl XXVI .
