Ward has been sidelined since injuring his quad against the Seattle Seahawks in Week 3. Whether or not he returns to game action this week is unclear. Rookie Rashard Robinson has been starting in Ward's place but missed practice on Tuesday due to a concussion.
Redmond, the 49ers' third-round draft pick in the 2016 draft, was placed on injured reserve before the start of the season as he continued to recover from a torn ACL suffered last October at Mississippi State. The 49ers gave Redmond their designated to return label, given to one player per season allowing them to return to the roster after being placed on injured reserve. Redmond is eligible to return to game action on November 6 against the New Orleans Saints and must be placed on the 53-man roster by November 8 or placed on injured reserve for the remainder of the season.
