There is only one first-round pick from the 2016 NFL Draft that has yet to sign his rookie contract. That player is Joey Bosa, whom the San Diego Chargers made the No. 3 overall pick in the draft out of Ohio State University. As the San Diego Union-Tribune reported in June, the issue at hand is the offset language and cash flow timing within Bosa's contract.

Negotiations have not progressed much in the ensuing month and a half and things have gotten so bad that Bosa's mother, Cheryl, responded to a Facebook post by stating, "It bums me out for (Joey) so much. I wish we pulled an Eli Manning on draft day."

She is referring, of course, to the fact that Eli Manning's father, Archie Manning, stated ahead of the 2004 draft that his son did not want to play for the San Diego Chargers, who owned the No. 1 pick that year. The Chargers ultimately traded Manning's rights to the New York Giants in exchange for the rights to No. 4 pick Philip Rivers and more.

The comment was first noted by SDBoltReport.com and later confirmed by the Union-Tribune, which noted that the team declined to comment on the situation. The Chargers' preseason opener takes place this Saturday against the Tennessee Titans, and at this point it has to be considered extremely unlikely that Bosa will make an appearance in that game.
