Two months ago, it appeared as though the Cardinals and former Browns receiver/returner Josh Cribbs were on the brink of signing a deal that would bring Cribbs to Arizona.

But ultimately the Cardinals didn’t feel the risk for Cribbs, who had recently undergone knee surgery to repair a torn meniscus, was worth it.

Cribbs, though, still is a free-agent commodity, and CBS Sports’ Jason La Canfora reports that a healthy Cribbs has visited the Raiders this week and has more visits upcoming with other teams.

Though Cribbs doesn’t have much worth as a receiver, he’s still effective returning kicks. He led the league in return yards in 2007, and though he hasn’t played to that level in several seasons, he’s coming off a 2012 in which he was the most effective he’d been in the previous three years.

Things obviously didn’t work out with Arizona, which drafted defensive back/returner Tyrann Mathieu in the third round, but it sounds like Cribbs soon might have other options.
