Josh Cribbs visited Raiders this week, other teams show interest
Two months ago, Josh Cribbs nearly signed with Arizona. Now, though, he's back on the free-agent market and visited the Raiders this week.
But ultimately the Cardinals didn’t feel the risk for Cribbs, who had recently undergone knee surgery to repair a torn meniscus, was worth it.
Though Cribbs doesn’t have much worth as a receiver, he’s still effective returning kicks. He led the league in return yards in 2007, and though he hasn’t played to that level in several seasons, he’s coming off a 2012 in which he was the most effective he’d been in the previous three years.
Things obviously didn’t work out with Arizona, which drafted defensive back/returner Tyrann Mathieu in the third round, but it sounds like Cribbs soon might have other options.
