Before the documentary about his life won a Sports Emmy, Joe Namath played an important role on 'The Brady Bunch.'
With Joe Namath’s HBO documentary winning a Sports Emmy on Tuesday night, we figured now was the appropriate time to reminisce about a TV appearance for Broadway Joe that perhaps didn’t garner as much critical acclaim.
Yes, the former Jets star quarterback made an appearance on the Brady Bunch in 1973 on the second episode of season 5, and he actually was pretty good on the show. Somehow, it’s perhaps even better than Greg Brady’s cameo at the Pro Football Hall of Fame in the late 1970s.
Here is Namath's appearance in all of its polyester and afro'd glory.
As that clip goes to show, you never really can trust Bobby and Cindy Brady can you? Either way, it was nice of Namath to make a house call.
Also, how hilarious would it have been if one of Namath’s errant passes was the one that nailed Marcia in the nose?
