Les Miles chooses words poorly when discussing LSU draftees
LSU has had a pretty successful NFL Draft. The Tigers have already seen eight players come off the board after the Titans selected defensive end Lavar Edwards, so it's no surprise that Les Miles has the glow of a proud papa.
LSU has had a pretty successful NFL Draft. The Tigers already have seen eight players come off the board after the Titans selected defensive end Lavar Edwards with the 142nd overall pick, so it's no surprise that Les Miles has the glow of a proud papa.
Appearing on NFL Network's live draft coverage Saturday, though, Miles made an interesting point with regards to the LSU players who have been taken.
"I wish I could get about half of those guys back," Miles said, "but I'm afraid they're gonna pay 'em much more significantly."
Okay, we know what Miles means here -- given that college athletes are technically paid via scholarships -- but it would probably be prudent to never say the word "pay" when discussing your collegiate players.
