Lionel Vital frontrunner for general manager position with Bucs
Lionel Vital has impressed Bucs coach Lovie Smith and is likely to land the GM position, ahead of Marc Ross, Jason Licht and Lake Dawson.
The Falcons ' Lionel Vital remains the frontrunner for the GM job in Tampa Bay, according to league sources.
Vital is the most experienced of the candidates, he made a strong impression on Bucs coach Lovie Smith and he already has a wealth of knowledge about Tampa Bay's division -- the NFC South.
Giants top college scout Marc Ross, Cardinals exec Jason Licht and Titans exec Lake Dawson are also finalists for the job, sources said, with Vital likely to land it. The decision could come by this weekend. The Dolphins have the only other opening for a general manager.
At Tampa Bay, Smith will have final say over personnel matters but lacks a personnel background.
